Presentation Zen

Oh no...another book on how to be a better presenter. I know what you're thinking: I barely have time to get my presentations in order, let alone make them more interesting by redesigning the whole thing...I'm not an artist!!! Well..if you're anything like me, that's what you are thinking :D. If by chance you are like me, then this is the perfect book for you. It's short, sweet and to the point. Here are the things I like most about this book:

  1. He's got a simple to follow philosophy of design
  2. He gives great visual before and after pictures, so you can really see for yourself what a difference it makes
  3. He sums it all up for you and the end of each section for ready reference.
  4. The book layout is designed using the same principles, so you really get a feel for it while you read.
Oh, and did I mention there is a companion website? http://www.presentationzen.com

Center for Disability Information and Referral (CeDIR)

Did you know that there is a library for Indiana residents that carries materials about training and disability related information? The Center for Disability Information and Referral at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community has a diverse collection of materials that can help you and your clients. This collection is open to anyone in Indiana, and includes books, videos and kits. Not to mention their website is full of resource guides, links to online information, chat reference and more! Most of their circulation is done through the mail, so don't worry about it if you don't live close to Bloomington, they are always willing to send out materials. The only cost to check out books is the price of shipping them back, if you don't live close to an IU library. Their reference staff is also great at finding scholarly articles, so feel free to contact them if you are looking for an article! Want to see what they have in their collection? Search IUCat to find materials that may interest you.
